What are the causes of snoring?

When we sleep, our airway become slightly restricted because the muscles and soft tissues in the throat and mouth relax. This restriction causes the velocity of air moving through our airway to increase, and because the airway is restricted, the soft tissues in the mouth and throat vibrate.
